A busy day struggling with Sam first thing, shopping with Diana in Norwich as Daniel stayed behind, washed both of our cars and looked after Sam and the girls.
I finished the hall modifications and we could now store our coats and shoes. We finished the day with a Bacton Woods walk and a nice TV programme about the Geordie detective, "Spender".
I was disappointed to find that Sam had messed his run this morning, having been whining for quite a while by the time that I got to him. Either I have been overfeeding him and have yet to get his food back in balance again or I should make allowances in view of him being on the worming medicine at the moment. First a walk around Crabbett's Marsh where I was subjecting him to more starting pistol blanks and starting to use dummies with feathers taped and banded on.

Then the trek into the village for three pints of milk and the morning paper after the kids had drunk as much with their cereal last night, leaving none for breakfast. Diana had arranged that I take her in Daniel's car to Norwich this morning to get some shelves and more coat hooks for putting up in the hall whilst Daniel stayed behind, washed both of our cars and looked after Sam and the girls. We were a bit longer than planned, what with our coffee and lunch breaks, but did get the things for the hall.
Daniel made the girls cheese on toast for lunch but we tried Mr Chann's £4 per head lunch special and enjoyed it. It fell to me to install the shelves and coat racks whilst Diana took the girls to The Horning Leisure Centre and Daniel did yet more work on his car. The improvement to the hall was most marked as we can now hang up all of the coats, as can Della on a rack fixed especially low for her, and our shoes are now on the new shelves put up for that purpose.
After tea of soup, Diana directed us to a walk that she had planned around Bacton Wood. It was a pity that the owners were undertaking widespread brashing and thinning so that it was messy and muddy underfoot and Diana did not like me keep firing the pistol blanks and getting Sam to do his retrieving. It was a pity that I found the middle of a huge bramble bush with a dummy as it took us ages to retrieve it after Sam had to give up.
We stopped off in Wroxham for drinks afterwards and I upset Di again; this time by encouraging the girls as they scrambled all over a climbing frame which she found too frightening. She forgave me later on. Watched a nice TV programme about the Geordie detective, "Spender", with Daniel later and then had the bath fourth in line, wrote my journal and turned in just before midnight. The cricket was too depressing to watch. After Australia had scored well over 600, England kept losing wickets for very few runs and now look set to lose another test and, with it, the series.
