The weather was sunny and fine but there was a virtual gale blowing later. The early morning cruise down the Yare through the open Reedham Swing Bridge, passing the Yarmouth Bure Bridges at low water.
The westerly wind against flood tide whipped up large waves as we fought our way up the Bure through the spray and wind. We stopped off at Stokesby for a late lunch of a full lobster salad.
The cruise up to Horning where I took Sam for a good walk and called Wiggly for the first time for a while
Having worked out the low-water times at Yarmouth, we had to plan to leave early this morning and it was up at 5.45am and out with Sam for fifteen minutes at 6.00am before leaving the moorings soon afterwards.

Diana and I worked turn and turn-about to steer, eat breakfast, wash and dress so that Paxton Princess kept on cruising on relentlessly down the River Yare. We were lucky to find Reedham Swing Bridge swung open and so could cruise right on down through Breydon Water and on to Great Yarmouth without need to stop.
Della was still asleep and so I used the auto pilot to steer the boat whilst Diana and I lowered everything for the Bure Bridges. Once through, we moored up on the free quay and then took Sam with us into Great Yarmouth town centre and sea front. The weather was sunny and fine but the wind gradually got up and there was a virtual gale blowing by the time we set off again.
The westerly wind against flood tide whipped up large waves as we fought our way upstream through the spray and wind. We stopped off at Stokesby for a late lunch and I got the fish place to prepare a full lobster salad which I enjoyed on the boat before we left.
Then the cruise onto Horning and Diana unloaded the boat and sorted Harnser out whilst I took Sam for a good walk and managed to call Wiggly for the first time in these last two days. She seemed a little tired and down and I was sorry that I had not got through to her yesterday or been able to see her in her new house yet.
