The day in Norwich after our guest Michelle was collected by Mr Brown as Michelle is collected and then, when walking Sam, I found a man hiding in the nearby undergrowth; probably a prison escape.
Lunch at an open-air cafe at Tombland where Sam could sit outside with us as we ate and then to buy a ticket and watch Norwich City beat West Ham 1-0 at Carrow Road.
Setting off later to moor at Surlingham Ferry and receive compliments on Sam’s behaviour.
Diana and I had eaten and drunk far too much at Vagabonds and we were hot and had trouble sleeping in consequence. We were due to wait at the marina for Mr Brown and family to come and collect our "boat-guest", Michelle.

But first, I took Sam for a walk along the river bank, the other side of Bishop's Bridge. I had a strange experience in this enclosed and overgrown area; which I thought was most suitable for exercising the dog.
Sam walked up to some undergrowth and as I peered at it to find him, I saw a man hiding nervously there! He was wearing a black leather jacket, had brown hair and a moustache and I was wondering whether he was some type of fugitive.
Back to the boat and a long time waiting for Michelle's family who were late having got delayed in traffic and then lost on the way here. A nice chat and coffee once they did arrive and a sad farewell to Michelle who had been an honorary "daughter" for the week.
Once they had gone, we walked into Norwich again and had lunch at an open-air cafe at Tombland where Sam could sit outside with us as we ate. On the walk back to the boat, I started to see people wearing Norwich City Football Club scarves and so, realising that the team were playing at home today,
I hurried back and on to Carrow Road; managing to get a ticket and seated in time for the match. It was a fine sunny afternoon and the team put in a good performance and created lots of chances whilst looking solid at the back.
They got their first goal of the season and with it, their first victory; beating West Ham by a goal to nil. Della stayed on the boat with Sam and Di went back into the city to do some shopping. We rendezvoused for tea on the boat and then set off, passing under the Norwich bridges in fine weather and cruising on to Surlingham Ferry Inn where we moored for the night.
We had several compliments upon Sam's behaviour today; one a disabled man in the park who said it was a pleasure to see a well-trained dog and others when we moored for the night and they saw his dinner obedience routine. We met the owner of this pub who recognised where our boat was from by its name and used to own a pub in Huntingdon.
