Struggling to wake Nigel at Hail Weston House to arrive late at a Peterborough shoot with Nigel and evening with Wiggly at the Singapore Restaurant as she creates over me clock-watching and making my way home.
I awoke just before 7.00am and got Diana up to get me a cup of tea and then struggled up and out myself. The car loaded and then over to Hail Weston House by arrangement to meet Nigel at 8.00am.

There was no sign of life in the house and, as he had said that he might be away overnight and only returning then to meet me, I took the opportunity to run Sam in the gardens as his first chance this morning.
Still no sign of Nigel as I found a way in and let his workman into the house and so I walked Sam some more and also got his old dog out of its basket in the kitchen and let him have a run out to relieve herself as well.
Eventually it was getting late and so, spotting that all his cars were there, I went in and shouted loud enough to wake him from his slumbers. He had got back around 3.00am in the morning and was dead to the world.
A mad rush to find his things and get him ready and out and then a fast drive up the A1 after which we were still very late to meet the other shots and workers who were ready to conduct the day's shoot. The weather was wet and increasingly windy and not a very pleasant day to be out in the open.
I took turn and turnabout with Nigel again; tending to Sam as he shot and putting the dog up in the car at other times. Sam was calmer than last time but still excitable and my shooting again did not manage to down a bird, though I did not really have a good chance to do so.
Nigel had to leave early in the afternoon and so I saw out his responsibilities and left later. The radio reports told me that Norwich City had lost their bid to become the only team out of nine visiting Manchester United this year to score a goal and get a point from them.
It seems that they took the battle to United and dominated the second half and were unlucky to have a Mark Robins goal disallowed for off-side. I had told Diana that I was staying on for dinner and would not be back until late so that she did not stay up.
In fact, I went back to Eynesbury after dark, taking my tools and components, and successfully fitted her new combined central heating timer/thermostat.
Then we had a nice intimate bath together, got dressed in our glad rags and were intending to go to the Latin American night at the Pizza place in Cambridge but ended up in the Singapore Restaurant nearby as it was full.
We had a splendid and novel meal there and went back to her place intending to make love before parting our separate ways but things went a bit wrong.
Wiggly got upset because I had been looking at my watch and she was worried about me leaving and so gave me a hard time. When she was ready, I had lost my ardour and was very tired and wanted to get back and so the evening ended quite unsatisfactorily.
At least we parted on good terms but it no doubt gave us both cause to examine our relationship. Home to bed around midnight and then straight off to sleep without disturbing the slumbering Diana.
