I did the outside chores in the absence of the gardener and then, after unpacking the car, I relaxed with a mug of coffee and read all the outstanding newspapers and mail.
Whether it was my tidying work at Heronshaw or not I do not know but I was so put out by the state of my office that I decided to take most of the morning putting it straight.
