After a fruitless search for Debbie’s mountain bike, driving from Paxton to Brighton for a 26th Anniversary Holiday with Diana, staying in the The Brighton Thistle Hotel.
Then a meal in Brown’s on a wet and windy day.
I did not sleep very well last night, fretting over the stupid loss of Debbie's mountain bike but then when I woke up, I put this to good use.

I first got the family to tidy their rooms and then join Diana and I for a search.
Reckoning that there was a slim chance that the bike had either been dumped in the nearby gravel pits or taken somewhere locally, I got Daniel and Di to take their cars around the St Neots estates and the girls their other bikes to look around Little Paxton whilst I took Sam on a search of the Paxton Pits and riverside area.
All of this was to no avail but at least we all felt better at making the attempt and Sam got a good run out of it. Then Diana and I packed ready to leave for Brighton for a couple of nights to mark our 26th Wedding Anniversary.
The journey around London via Dartford on the M25 was appalling for us as there were numerous delays but at least we were thankful not to be going anti-clockwise as the carriageways were completely blocked with mile upon mile of stationary cars!
I was also still grumpy and concerned to be able to see Norwich on Sky TV and so, once we got to Brighton, we used my mobile telephone to change our hotel booking from The Queens Hotel to The Brighton Thistle Hotel.
Though the cost was up from £75 to £99 per night, we had five star accommodation and Sky TV so that we could watch the match later in the evening. I enjoyed the match even though Brian Gunn dislocated and broke his ankle and reserve goalkeeper Andy Marshall had to deputise.
The 19-year-old youngster did well with three exceptional shots saved but then misjudged a cross and allowed a goal to be scored direct from a corner by which Norwich lost the match to Nottingham Forest 1-0.
Earlier, I had taken Diana on a walk around the shops before they closed and we had a meal in Brown's which I think is connected to the Cambridge place of the same name.
It was a wet and windy day today with the winds of gale force but at least it was also very mild as well.
