A Valentines Day of paperwork and dog care as Nigel cancels our shooting trip and I took Diana and Debbie off to Peterborough to watch "Mrs Doubtfire"
It was a bitterly-cold night and continued very cold and frosty this morning with a biting wind but I did not spare Sam a water retrieve in line with my new policy. He ran round for some time to get dry and, after being towelled off, was allowed into my office on a blanket to warm up. He did not make much of a companion and just cured up into a tight ball and slept soundly and contentedly.

He was to get a trip out to join us for a pigeon shoot this afternoon, but Nigel called to cancel the arrangement because of business pressures. He quartered and hunted quite well this evening as I took him for a very long walk in search of something to point but he found nothing. I had failed to buy Diana a Valentines Card but made one instead and then stapled a £5 inside to give her the money I saved! Daniel had exchanged nice cards with Dawn, but the girls just got chocolate hearts from Di.
I lit the fire in my office to share with Sam and finally caught up with my paperwork after many weeks behind. This involved getting details of all our outstanding account payments by direct debit and standing order so that we could change them from our Abbey National cheque account so that this could be discontinued. Tonight, I took Diana and Debbie off to Peterborough to watch "Mrs Doubtfire" which was quite good considering the zany story line.
