As the new gardener does well, completing year end administration and then chairing an election planning meeting with two good new candidates joining us after a busy day. A couple of useful walks with Sam who is daily getting better with his waterwork and dummy-holding.
Another fine day as the gardener came and mowed & strimmed the grass for once, now that the garden is starting to grow again. Diana had agreed that Debbie could have Tabatha to stay and Della had her friend Michelle Brown and so we had our hands full.

I invited myself along to lunch and we drove over to The Happy Eater in Croxton at the request of the young ones who played outside on the play equipment. My task at home was to complete the year-end tax transactions and to write a number of letters on the subject. Later, I prepared my papers and then attended Sally's house for the evening where I chaired a campaign meeting of the four candidates plus the copy writer.
I steered them away from disputes and controversy, agreed with them our priorities and objectives, listed the likely helpers we would use and then agreed the content of the first leaflet. I celebrated this progress by taking them down to the local pub for a drink. I was impressed by the two new member/candidates; Terry Clough from Buckden and Louise Busby from Eaton Ford who is going to fight Eynesbury for us. They would both make excellent councillors and could only strengthen the team.
The funniest thing was that Tory Terry Hayward had approached Terry Clough with a view to getting him to stand against our Percy Meyer in The Offords; only to find that he will now stand for us against Terry Hayward himself in Buckden and will probably beat him to boot!
