The nice Ocean Park Hotel supposedly the oldest motel in San Francisco,

After enjoying Fisherman's Wharf and reviewing places to stay, we came across the nice Ocean Park Hotel, supposedly the oldest motel in San Francisco, before driving out to Muir Woods  and having a scare over losing the girls

I awoke first and updated yesterday's journal as Diana made the coffee and used the bathroom first.

Took the family around the back to the Wharf Coffee Shop and enjoyed a nice meal; if a little big for me.

We gave the girls some money to spend along Fisherman's Wharf whilst Diana and I went along to look at alternative motels. There was quite a good deal from the downtown motel, called something like the Broad Manor, but it was a little seedy and did not have telephone sockets for my modem.

We therefore drove out to the Sunset district near the Zoo where we were a little disappointed by the first hotels we saw but then came across the Ocean Park Motel.

We had to knock the owner up but found him to be very helpful and the hotel very good and cheap. In fact, we secured two connecting rooms and all the facilities we needed for three nights at the same cost as one night at the Travelodge!

It is an older place, supposedly the oldest motel in San Francisco first used by lovers for anonymity back in the 1930's but now has the old laid-back San Franciscan air about it though still decorated in the Art Deco style and run by the daughter of the former owners and her husband.

Even the girls liked it when we brought them back later. During the day, we made a trip to the central tourist information centre to buy four three-day Muni passports for the rest of the day and then drove out to Muir Woods to see the Redwood trees and walk the furthest distance there we ever had.

The girls went ahead and got lost but found us eventually, but only after worrying Diana. The latter part of the evening at our hotel where Diana unpacked, the girls enjoyed the hot tub and I wrote up my journal, updated my accounts and then traded messages on my CIX system again after a break.

Wiggly was fine but seemed to miss me less than I missed her, but then she has plenty to stretch and occupy her and I am just dreaming about her all day.
