Attending the Kimbolton Prep Swimming Gala for Daniella

Attending the Kimbolton Prep Swimming Gala with a disabled Diana, trying to find a rental property solution and navigating the Huntingdon LibDem AGM

This is an event we have always gone to and we would do so again today.

Me being there meant that I could help with making the breakfast and getting the girls ready.

Sam had a night in his old kennel and a walk around familiar places in Paxton Gravel Pits and then I persuaded Debbie to come with us for the event.

She could not find her purse and library ticket and so I offered to lend her my ticket, give her a little money and to have lunch with us afterwards if she came.

The journey to Kimbolton School Grounds, Diana travelling in the back with her leg up on Della's lap and Debbie in the front with me. In good time for the swimming gala and a couple of seats where Di could have her leg up again.

In the end, Debbie quite enjoyed the day and watched all of the children swim and perform. Della swam third in her race; pitted against quite good swimmers and only losing by a little bit.

She had been on a promise of "pogs"* as prizes; ten to win, five for second and two for third and had therefore tried very hard. The irony was that I drove her back to the Prep building afterwards to try to find her main supply of 30-odd Pogs* and she had lost them as we could not!

Diana was not able to join the picnics with the other mums in view of her leg and so we gave Debbie the choice and she opted for lunch at McDonalds. Once back and after a cup of tea, I left them there and made my way back to meet Wiggly home from work.

She had come home early enough to walk Sam with me, after I had called her to say I was back. She had been worried about me not coming back the night before and thought I might have made things up with Di.

I was able to give her news of my negotiations as I had managed to see Mr David Knight (of 1 Priory Road, next door to Chris & Penny Harbard of 2 West Street) and got the impression that I could buy the potential garage plus lots of other adjacent land for £6,000 to make the parking proposition realistic.

A nice meal of chicken, vegetables, sauce and rice which Wiggly cooked for me and then she to her Town Council meetings and I to Huntingdon for a meeting of the Constituency.

This had been called especially to consider my recommendation for Stuart Littlewood's membership to be revoked but, as this had lapsed without renewal in the meantime, this vote was not taken as he was out of the party anyway.

Appalling behaviour from Angela Bush and Chris Slee; attempting to interrupt Alicia Davison at every turn and Percy had to be very strict with them and they took offence as a result.

Chris resigned as treasurer as a result but we will be better off without his aggravation. They and Mark Rainer did not stay for the social afterwards which was a pity as relationships had to be healed.

It was good to see a couple of new members including George Emeleus, the former Kimbolton School-teacher present and offering more help in future campaigns.

I was back first, but Wiggly soon followed and we made up by going to the local pub for a coupe of pints and then with some very energetic sex when we returned which was quite mind-blowing before we went to sleep.

I had to make several trips to the toilet after this partly due to the drink but also to the exertion and it effect on my vitals!

(*The name originates from Pog, a brand of juice made from passionfruitorange, and guava; the use of the juice's caps to play the game preceded the game's commercialisation)
