Wiggly's work farewell, a crisis at The Hayling View swimming pool and Cambridge Fringe evening to a performance of "The Threepenny Opera".
Wiggly was approaching this, her last, workday with Unilever with some trepidation and was particularly nervous about what Charles, her boss, would say about her absence on Wednesday and since.

She need not have worried because he did not come along to the pub for her leaving party and her morning appointment with personnel for an exit interview meant she had not seen him in the office either.
They sent her off nicely with a well-attended lunch in view of the dwindling number of colleagues still working there.
They had collected a sum with which to buy her a nice top-of-the-range pencil and pen set and had all signed a large card with many funny comments about "The Escape Committee" for all of them regard their plight almost as incarceration and strive to get out if only they can find the right job.
She was slow up and out this morning, but then I woke feeling randy and just had way with her fairly quickly and a bit selfishly in view of the lack of time. Wiggly and I did share some affection and then took Sam for a nice walk together.
She left in time for her 10.00am interview and then I got down to writing a long summary letter for my Trustees and Financial advisers notifying them of our change of circumstances and providing them with the details that they would need to help us.
I had intended to spend some time at The Hayling View but was thus side-tracked but, after Wiggly came home early and offered to walk the dog, I did rush over to collect the mail and check things.
I almost wished I had not as the swimming pool was turning murky and the fish pool filter was clogged again and so I had to stay longer than intended to backflush the filters and add shock-chemicals to the swimming pool.
Quickly back to eat another fine pasta dinner by Wiggly and then, after washing up and joining her in the shower, we got changed and ready for our evening's entertainment.
We drove across to Cambridge to meet Wiggly's theatrical friend, actor/writer/director Mike Levey who had invited us to a performance of "The Threepenny Opera".
After drinks and listening to a pre-performance of live jazz singing my members of the cast, we went in to see this production in three acts with two intervals in-between.
It was a strange esoteric sort of thing, Germanic in style with haunting musical and visual images. In fact quite weird in places.
Still we enjoyed it as the songs were well sung and, once we moved forward after the interval, we could enjoy the words and drama better as well.
There was disappointment by Wiggly and Mike over the fact that the song featuring the main character, "Mac the Knife", was only sung once, briefly, at the beginning and not in a changed ending.
It was funny to see how many of the cast and helpers had appeared in other plays and musicals we had seen during this fringe drama festival that is now sadly at an end.
Home not too late and then to bed in one-another's arms despite the hot and muggy weather.
