Working in Horning cutting the lawns as temperatures touched the low 90sF locally.
Then down to The New Inn for lunch in the Jolly and back to Paxton to collect Diana and Debbie for the trip to Kimbolton to see Della in her last Prep play.
After dropping them home, Diana shut the door sharply in my face saying, "Girls, Dad does not live here any more".
A good night on the boat, despite my sore ribs, and I was the first up and getting showered and shaved ready to take Sam for a walk.

After this and breakfast, Wiggly cleaned out the boat and I got out the mower and cut all three lawns.
The weather had become really warm as the hitherto-cold breeze turned warm and humid. This with the hot June sun made for an uncomfortable time for those out in it; and temperatures touched the low 90sF in Norwich.
This made for a testing time as we also packed up the car and got ourselves ready to leave.
This done, we took The Jolley down river to The New Inn and sat out on their riverside lawn for lunch. I had a nice beef and wine pie whilst Wiggly opted for the Cromer crab salad.
Back to finish off and leave The Paxton Princess and Harnser at the end of a pleasant week where we made the best of the weather.
Wiggly enjoyed the experience and would like to come boating some more. Even so, the hot and humid day and my exasperation with my rib injuries left us in a slightly poor humour.
Not much time when we arrived back at Montagu Street where I could only get washed and changed and back out to collect Diana and Debbie for the trip to Kimbolton to see Della in her last Prep play.
I had been unable to prepare Wiggly for the following few days, not knowing how Diana's mood was going to be.
In the event, she was very frosty and hostile to me, evidently feeling very hurt by my decision to take Wiggly on holiday on the boat.
This she saw as the final break with my behaviour being beyond the pale, though it had not seemed to be a particularly significant development to me.
Debbie and Della were very pleased to see me and cuddly with Debs actually sitting on my lap to see better for most of the performance.
She was very worried about her party arrangements and a divisive situation had arisen over the supply and use of alcohol.
The original idea of Diana and I that there should just be served soft drinks and mildly alcoholic punch had been discarded to the point where Daniel and his friends had developed a full cash bar for the party and Debbie & Charlotte's guests were then planning to bring their own drinks to save money!
Diana seemed to have ducked out of the project in high dudgeon and it was left to me to get Daniel to agree to lower his bar prices and Debbie and Charlotte to agree to contact all of their friends to say that they were not to bring drinks from outside.
This I did with no help or participation from Di who was still angry that I had left them to it and not contacted them during the week I was in Norfolk. Debbie was happier by the end of the evening.
The play was quite homely with Della having a modest part and looking quite petrified but I got her smiling as I waved to her and she joined in the singing well enough.
The journey home but then, as I walked them to the door, Diana shut the door sharply in my face saying, "Girls, Dad does not live here any more".
Each of them came out to kiss me goodnight despite this example but it hurt for her to be so unfeeling and unnecessarily rude. It was all I could do to get my mail.
Back to Wiggly who had been doing lots of unpacking, washing and ironing and was waiting for me.
In a long call with Michael, she had agreed to lead opposite him in a new play to be rehearsed in the summer and put on in November and had also made arrangements to go out with him the following night; in my absence.
She had not eaten either so we enjoyed a shared takeaway meal for only £8. A very sad experience.
