Scientists in London have indeed made a significant breakthrough in Neanderthal DNA analysis, specifically with the study of Cheddar Man, Britain's oldest complete skeleton.

Researchers at the Natural History Museum and University College London collaborated to analyze his DNA, revealing that Cheddar Man had dark to black skin, blue eyes, and dark curly hair, challenging previous assumptions about his appearance.

This groundbreaking research utilized DNA extracted from a 2mm hole drilled into the skull, and the findings were used to create a facial reconstruction of Cheddar Man, showcasing a very different image than previously imagined
