More than 40 years, told day by day
From Paxton to Heathrow ready for our flight to EuroDisney and then watching Chelsea easily beat by favourite team Luton Town to go through to the final.
Quite a revelation for me to be without Sam as I used the morning to get up to date with my paperwork and ready for the start of our journey. I updated two days' journal and reconciled my bank account after paying yet more bills. Then, with midday past, I started emptying out the car so that I could pack and load up.

Taking Sam to Trevor and Barbara Rigby in Lincoln to stay for a training holiday as I prepare for Paris. Chrisula Jackson and her three girls arrived to play with our girls after which I watched a Michael Cane film "The Fourth Protocol" on TV
Today was the day for me to take Sam to the Rigbys and, due to my needing an early start, I was not able to spend much time out with him before setting off. He is now settled on a single meal a day and seems to thrive on it. His dropping are harder and he manages to eat more overall without getting a tummy upset.

The weather today still cold and windy with the rain coming in spells that I managed to avoid. Off to Mill Meadow but angry to find that the entrance had been blocked off and Cliff and Diana Roberts of Mill House knew not why. Over to Huntingdon for the election press launch of the Liberal Democrats.
I found poor Percy seems to have aged, and his health deteriorated lately but Ross was very positive with Louise about their campaign for Eynesbury.
This was to be the last full day with Sam before he was off to the boarding kennels for the week, and I aimed to use the opportunity well and got out with him. Off this morning heading towards Mill Meadow but angry to find that the entrance had been blocked off and a sign erected with the aim of excluding people and dogs.

Morning tea with Diana after upsetting her the night before and then out training with Sam, pointing and retrieving successfully.
Still a bit chilly but the wind had dropped and it was dry when I let our new white doves out today
I had disturbed and upset Diana late last night and she went off to the spare room to get relief from the stomach cramps of her monthly cycle. She was back to wake me with morning tea before I got dressed and ready for breakfast. After giving Sam a short run locally, a car ride up to Molesworth where I got him hunting and quartering over lots of the farm on the village side of the A14.

A day of recovery in Horning, walking Sam along the sawdust road and then into Horning for the Eastern Daily Press before back as the weather started to change and that icy wind started up again.
Just managing to get out to clean the car before the drive back to Paxton. To bed at a reasonable time tonight; still very tired after my efforts and lack of sleep.
Late to bed last night and alone this morning as I struggled to get up and out with Sam. He was tired from yesterday and so was not too bothered until a neighbour's car going up the road got him going. Just a walk along the sawdust road and then into Horning for the Eastern Daily Press before back as the weather started to change.

A successful Spring Pointing Test for Sam in snow and gales at Trimm's Green -when he was graded "Good" and best of the ‘Junior’ entry. News today is of another aircraft crash - this time with engine failure at Amsterdam's Schipol Airport - and yet more people died.
The dogs had slept well overnight, but I had been late to bed and then restless thinking of the meeting and problems of dog clubs and training. If Jim had not been with me, I would have thought seriously of giving the club events a miss. However, today was all set for him to do well as his pointing achievements with Ben were due for recognition.
