After a disorganised morning routine, we did our chores and left for the beach as the calmness turned into a windy day that made a windbreak necessary and the antics of the Scroby Sands trip boats interesting. After lunch, we found that that "Java Moon" had followed us round from Wells and had tied up alongside, having had problems in their passage.
Later, we went for a ride in a landau and the children enjoyed the scary and gentle rides of Pleasurebeach. It was the Yarmouth Carnival Procession and we saw all of the floats and heard the music as we had a nice meal in one of the sea-front family restaurants. Another hot and humid night for which we were glad to be by the sea.
We had a greatly dislocated routine today as Diana overslept and I got irritable that we were not getting on. Once our chores were done, we left the boat at the quay and I took all of the family to the beach for the morning. It started very still and calm and we struggled to find a place in the vicinity of the pier to get some shade. Then the in-shore breeze got up and soon we needed the shelter of a windbreak. We had brought the binoculars and were watching the trip boats leaving from the beach on a return trip to the Scroby Sands. At first their voyage was very gentle and then they had quite a sea to contend with in the end and had spray dodgers up to protect their passengers.

We went back to the boat after lunch to find that "Java Moon" had followed us round from Wells and had tied up alongside. They had received quite a bashing from those sea breezes and, having an engine problem as well, found the Yarmouth entry quite uncomfortable. They are a family of three small girls and we think that they are quite brave taking these conditions. Their girls loved Wells and cried when they had to leave. This evening, we went for a ride in a landau (with horse and carriage) and the children enjoyed the scary and gentle rides of Pleasurebeach. It was also the day of the Yarmouth Carnival Procession and we saw all of the floats and heard the music. We then had a nice meal in one of the sea-front family restaurants which always give good service and value for money. Then the girls went to bed and Daniel went out on yet another hot and humid night for which we were glad to be by the sea.
