I woke up early and spent some time writing up my log as our morning routine was back to normal. We had planned to spend all day at Great Yarmouth and so I ran the boat engines for half an hour and then used the generator to make sure the fridge would be working while we were away. We went ashore for a fried breakfast of egg, sausages and bacon etc at Tooks and thoroughly enjoyed it and this was a great compensation to Diana who not only enjoyed the meal but also not having to do the clearing up afterwards. I then let her go shopping on her own as I looked after the girls.
I bought Della a "Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles" watch and Debbie a nice necklace with a crystal heart pendant which she was very pleased with. I managed to get myself a pair of jeans that fitted and also a pocket telescope. We then had lunch together at McDonalds and tea on the boat, after which I taught the girls to catch crabs and we got ten in all and even Della managed to get one on her own. I then made up a better wire harness to support the inflatable tender as I also ran the engines for a couple of hours to keep the battery up. I wrote up my journal later and then collapsed into my bunk very tired after our exertions. This weather continues very hot, sunny and dry as a very serious drought, but it is very good holiday weather.
