The culmination of our cruise with the final leg from Great Yarmouth to Horning, stopping at Stokesby to buy a fine lobster salad from the fish shop there for tea before we had lunch in the riverside pub and resumed our trip.
An evening catching up with writing and preparing for tomorrow's departure by packing and putting things away. The .news was quite appalling with kidnaps, murders and more Ulster bigotry
A good night and I awoke to see the tide running out and to listen to the busy radio traffic of Yarmouth Port on Channel 12. I got shaved and showered and then prepared the boat for leaving under the Haven and Bure Bridges; lowering the mast, aerial and canopy before we set off. I just had time for a quick bite of breakfast before the bridge opened for several other boats and I went through. There was a strong force 5/6 north-westerly wind today but we pressed on up the Bure against the falling tide until we stopped at Stokesby for lunch.

I bought a fine lobster salad from the fish shop there for tea and we had lunch in the riverside pub before resuming our trip. We were soon in Horning and edged in to our mooring at Ropes Hill Dyke. Daniel had left his speedboat in our mooring, our car out and the house, boat-house and garage unlocked. What it is to have a son! We took it easy once back at Heronshaw as we did some preparation for tomorrow's departure by packing and putting things away. This evening, I caught up with some five days' journal and both Diana and I were relieved as a result. We watched a little TV as we prepared for bed with shore-power electricity on hand again. The news was quite appalling with kidnaps, murders and more Ulster bigotry and we have been better off without listening to it for the last month. The cold north-westerly will give us the coldest night for some time.
