Tending the conservatory this morning, watering the plants with fertilizer, and feeding the fish after our customary Sunday fried breakfast and then agreeing Daniel’s tax affairs with him before he left for Norfolk with Angela.
Watching the last of the Antiques Roadshow episodes this afternoon before returning to my desk to catch up with admin ahead of our US visit. The weather was quite mild again and the presence of so many large and fine daffodils has confirmed both the imminent arrival of Spring
Was awake early again and then washed my hair, showered and dressed and was still in time for breakfast. It was our customary fried affair and I thoroughly enjoyed it, but Di let Daniel and Angela have a lay in as a kindness. To my office where I worked on our taxation affairs for the end of the year. In particular, I was sorting out Daniel's income and accounts and secured his approval for what I wanted to do. Lunch and then Daniel and Angela left soon afterwards for Norwich. I asked them to try and pop into see my mother, but I do not know if they will. I watched some televised football this afternoon and then my favourite Antiques Roadshow which is sadly the last of the present series. Then back to my office tonight and I finally managed to clear away the things from my desk and restore some normality. I sent a letter to the editor to respond to the Mayor of St Neots who had criticised my colleagues and also used the fax to send some other correspondence as well. To bed tired this evening after several hard days but I still have a lot to do before I can get away to the United States. Did not receive a single call today, but I made several to political colleagues to chase them on important election actions. The weather was quite mild again and the presence of so many large and fine daffodils has confirmed both the imminent arrival of Spring and the correctness of my policy in looking after these flowering plants last year.
