The builders finish off the Harnser riverside hip and put up facia board as the building takes shape and Daniel helped me strimming the rest of the garden rubbish before he goes home.

A rather disjointed day with lots of interruptions to my physical work but several work-planning successes. I was up early enough and got my best staining work done whilst the family were still in bed. The builders arrived and carried on finishing off the riverside roof hip and then worked their way around putting up the facia board. The new building is now showing lots of shape and character with its hips, dormers and eaves overhangs and viewing it against the other buildings along the dyke in the morning over breakfast, I think that it will be amongst the most attractive of all of them.

This view was confirmed this evening when we accepted an invitation to go aboard James and Bernice Dunham's boat and viewed two of the bungalows first hand. James confirmed this when he announced his intention of demolishing his, possibly also purchasing the one next door, and then building one larger house to replace them both. I took lunch with Daniel and the family at Picasso's Pizza after Daniel had helped me by strimming the rest of the garden rubbish that had accumulated. He also came with me to find the local household waste tip afterwards and we got rid of all of the rubbish in my trailer at long last.
Important trip to Jewsons today, first buying urgently needed nails and ordering all of our roofing materials; and then time on the telephone clarifying the same order with Marley. Also contacted the roofer this evening and arranged for them to come and cover in the roof with felt and batten on Friday. We also had a large delivery of Masterboard and made a start on the external cladding to stiffen the building prior to having the extra weight of the roof. After all of this disruption, I was looking forward to a productive evening's work but then that social invitation came....
