To St Neots for a few chores and coffee in Brackenbury’s and then to Peterborough to order traditional black and white number plates for my historic Reliant now that I had recovered the number CJW 986. Home via Brampton Garden Centre for a soup and salad lunch and then the afternoon laying out the final versions of the FOCUS adverts; that left us with more advertising revenue than ever before.
A delay planning the piling for Horning after Steven Bloom was delayed in Norway. Back home Percy tells me that he, too, has fallen out with the S.W.Cambs Campaign Team after the pollster who had been enquiring into our local constituency has given very little chance of success here as I anticipated. I spent a little time with my girls at bed-time today, pretending that Debbie's cuddly. "Lulie" was alive and working her like a puppet which they both appreciated.
Still tired this morning after my lost sleep on Saturday night. Opted to go into St Neots with Diana this morning and, after our morning coffee together in Brackenbury's, managed to do a few chores whilst she did the shopping in Waitrose. I then drove us off to Peterborough to visit the number plate manufacturers and there ordered some new plates for the Reliant. CJW 986 was its original 1939 number that I have managed to recover and I am getting the plates made of raised silver letters on a black background in the original format.

We drove back down the A1 and turned off to the Brampton Garden Centre where we had a nice soup-and-salad-roll lunch and then bought the flower seeds and potting compost that the gardener wanted. I saw him this morning for ten minutes and he raised a whole host of accumulated queries with me having not seen me these last three weeks! Once home again, I spent more time on correspondence and then on laying out the final versions of the FOCUS adverts; this time taking into account the late-coming arrivals that leaves us with more advertising revenue than ever before. This evening after tea, I delivered these latest copies to my colleagues and then drove up to Sawtry hoping to see Steven Bloom about Heronshaw.
Mr Amis had been on the telephone today, wanting to meet Steven to mark out and understand the position of the piling which he was due to start as planned for later in the week. Unfortunately, Steve was delayed in Norway and only now arrived in Glasgow by air and I worry about our ability to plan the groundwork as we intended. It was cooler today after the rain but dry at least. In fact, the day started very fine and sunny as I watched the sun-rise from my bed. Percy tells me that he, too, has fallen out with the S.W.Cambs Campaign Team after today's meeting with them and that the pollster who had been enquiring into our local constituency has given very little chance of success here as I anticipated. I spent a little time with my girls at bed-time today, pretending that Debbie's cuddly. "Lulie" was alive and working her like a puppet which they both appreciated.
