A relaxing day at home after a late night watching the cricket which started with Diana bringing me my morning tea as Debbie complained that she wanted to get going for her all-day party! This morning doing my chores, and feeling that the Rolls Royce ought to be disposed of.
A poor lunch of pies after Di burnt the roast lamb. The Tories were behind in the polls again and the IRA were widening their mainland bombing campaign to include civilian targets
I had stayed up far too late last night watching England getting into a dominant position against Pakistan in the cricketing World Cup. I was therefore glad of the lay in this morning as I was not woken up until after 8.30am when Diana brought me my morning tea. Unusually, she brought up her own coffee to drink at the same time and we sat there quite peacefully until Debbie came in and complained that we were not getting up early enough to help her get ready for an all-day party!

This morning, after doing the chores, I got the Rolls Royce out and ran it up a while whilst sweeping the garage out and clearing the de-humidifier outlet to make it work again. I should sell this car as I am not using it enough, but the market is so poor that I cannot. This was the signal for the rain to start falling and it then settled in to continue for the rest of the day. I put the batteries of both collector's cars on charge and went in for lunch. Poor Diana had an accident with the roast lamb, and we had to have pies to eat which was as much a disappointment to her as the rest of us.
The afternoon and much of the evening watching televised sport, taking tea in the lounge. A little time for some computer work later this evening and managed a little correspondence as a result. The Tories were behind in the polls again and the IRA were widening their mainland bombing campaign to include civilian targets and the kick-off of a televised football match was delayed an hour as a result.
