It was a day of sunshine and showers with a fair breeze to go with it. Sam was still suffering from his digestive problems and had to be given his "roundworm" treatment today for good measure, but I was reducing his feed again and hoped to restore control before long. It was to be a day visiting Wroxham and, rather than going by car as usual, Diana hit on the idea of taking The Paxton Princess.

I got it ready and we dodged the showers to have a nice trip there but struggled to find a mooring space this side of the bridge. In the end, the boat occupying the "Riverside Cafe" moorings moved off and we took that and had lunch in the cafe. Sam came with us and was in his crate for difficult manoeuvres but allowed to walk around on decks for the most part. He behaved well after good sessions training on land and the children were pleased that he was along. Shopping for money, groceries and crockery and then back to the boat where a sharp rain shower had left it rather wet.
This was a blessing in disguise as we could then clean off the boat by mopping it and it looked a picture as we cruised back. Soon time for the tea and the dog again and then, after working for most of the evening at cleaning out the shed, I took Diana into Norwich and we watched the film "Assassin" at the cinema in The Prince of Wales Road. It was an American remake of the French film "Nikita" which I felt was much better. In this latest film, they had changed the ending and I preferred the former role of "The Cleaner" who had become a legend and conversational anecdote to me for his role.
Home late to find Della in a state over finding a spider crawling across her pillow but I soon sorted her out and she was asleep in minutes. England duly lost the latest Test Match by an innings against Australia and captain Graham Gooch duly resigned which is an example that Ted Dexter could follow as Chairman of the Selectors.
