The day stayed warm and muggy for our visit to Great Yarmouth, ‘The Great Mouth of the River Yar’, until the heavens opened up later on after we returned home.
After stopping at The Horning Tea Shoppe for our mornings's, we made this journey after to the seaside where Diana and I first bought Pleasurebeach wristbands for the girls to use, had a cheap and cheerful lunch there and walked along the front to the harbour entrance with Sam.
There were still huge piles of granite boulders being stored and used for sea defences, but they seem to be declining as the work gets underway
After the succession of sunny and dry days the weather had to change and so it did today. It was still warm, even muggy, and so the duller outlook gave us a chance to do other things such as going to Great Yarmouth.

We also broke the trend of getting up early and had our first lay in of the week and this was much appreciated if rather disruptive to the bathroom sequence. Sam had a run as well and I nearly saw Arthur Edmunds but just missed him. It was mid-morning before we could get out together and soon stopped at Horning Tea Shoppe for our mornings's!
The journey after to the seaside where Diana and I first bought Pleasurebeach wristbands for the girls to use and then walked along the front to the harbour entrance with Sam. This section of the beach was even more deserted than usual and the sand had been thrown all over the promenade to almost conceal its existence. The old mobile homes used for low-price holiday accommodation looked rather down-at-heel but we enjoyed passing them and drinking more coffee at their cafe. It only cost £1 for two coffees and a bun and even then the lady threw in an old sausage and cut it up for the dog to eat as a titbit.
There were still huge piles of granite boulders being stored and used for sea defences, but they seem to be declining as the work gets underway. As we passed a bonfire the sun came through the mist, an onshore sea breeze developed, and the wind direction changed accordingly. Back to the girls who had been enjoying their recreation and we had a cheap and cheerful lunch together in the Pleasurebeach Cafe before they carried on and Diana joined me for a trip to the town centre.
Some time shopping for necessities and other time just looking round before we collected the girls and set off back for Horning. It had been dull today but at least it stayed dry but this evening the heavens opened with a typical thundery shower and refreshed the ground and helped to fill the dykes. This evening, the girls first did some of their revision whilst Diana did her ironing and then they settled down to TV whilst I updated my journal and then tried to do a bit outside.
