After a horrifically warm and humid night the weather was still very warm and humid all day. To the cinema to watch  film, "First Knight" with Della and we thoroughly enjoyed it.  Chairing a poorly-attended evening's strategy LibDem meeting

It was a horrifically warm and humid night such that it was impossible to use the bedclothes and I had trouble sleeping.

Wiggly and I still have to work out our routine on these nights for she persuaded me to bed far to early and without Bournevita and then her nice but hot body entangled around me was far too hot!

At least she cares. Awake to a cacophony of Psion alarms (something else we have to sort out) and then morning tea with her mail.

I was angry when reading the HDC agenda to see that there was no item put on by our colleagues to dispute the issue of closing down the central St Neots amenity tip and centralising certain council services in Godmanchester.

This after I had previously fought for its retention and nagged so long and hard about it as an issue. I complained to Wiggly and she took my criticism personally and got into an even worse mood that she would have been at having to go into a pointless day at work on a hot day.

I helped with the housework by washing up and gathering together the rubbish and putting it out and saw her off to work before walking the dog. Sam did not seem to be very interested in his food this morning with the weather being so hot and so I shall reduce it for a while.

Just time to update my journal and log into Cix and reply to me email before it was time to go across for my outing with Della. Diana was out and so it was just Della sitting there ready for me and very pleased to see me.

I had to take her with me to see Dr Wright at Cedar House surgery whilst I got my latest skin wart checked out and his agreement on a minor operation to remove it.

Della and I chatted a little while, I collected my mail and then we set off for Peterborough and had lunch at the McDonalds before the film started. Time to chat again and also to call Wiggly.

She had little news of work but more of the initial calls I had got her to make concerning Redgrave Post Office & Stores.

When we got in to see the film, "First Knight" we thoroughly enjoyed it. It was an adventure film about King Arthur, Launcelot, Guinevere and Camelot and full of action and filmed in England and was very good.

Back to deposit Della home and collect Sam with Diana remaining quite frosty towards me and then on to see a much more receptive Wiggly for a dog walk together. She made tea of nice soup and then pie and ice cream in the garden.

I managed to get hold of Sarah Francis, the former employee of the Butterfields, who was quite interested in what I was doing about Redgrave Stores and could feature in our future plans, one way or another.

A rush to get out for my meeting this evening at Sally's house. I was chairing the District Strategy Group but only Percy, Ron Heinrich and myself turned up besides Sally who was only there part of the time.

Even then the meeting went on until 9.30pm but I did use some of the time to chide Sally and Percy about the lack of LibDem activity on the Full Council Agenda. I had already upset Wiggly by bringing this up in bed this morning.

I attended in shorts and a T-shirt as the weather was still very warm and humid so that I was glad to have been moving between the air-conditioning in my car, McDonalds and then the Showcase cinema earlier today!
