Diana and I taking turns for our vigil watching over Della recovering in hospital as I made a moving speech to open The Grand Bazaar and Jumble Sale in aid of the little Clive Peacock on my late Dad's Birthday.
Finally taking the last turn attending Della as she got tired and went through the session of involuntary body jerks as she relaxed into sleep. I had my break this afternoon, watching as England narrowly failed to beat Australia in a thrilling final to the Rugby World Cup.
I got up early and was soon ready to go to Hinchingbrooke, waking Daniel and Debbie with morning drinks. I left them to get Debbie ready for her journey to school and I left early to see Diana at the hospital. I relieved her there and looked after Della until Daniel and Angela arrived around 9.30am when I left for first home and then Little Paxton School where I was due to open the Scott Peacock Grand Bazaar and Jumble Sale. It was a very well supported event - the tables were full of goods to sell and there were queues of people waiting for the event to be opened.

After a better night’s sleep for Debbie and I, Di called from the hospital to be relieved as she was exhausted and so I dropped Debbie off to the bus stop and drove to see Della. We were also visited by the Rev Peter Lewis and Janice Salvadori from Staughton, whose daughter, Clare, was one of four that Della played with in the Kimbolton Prep play-ground.
We heard that Kimbolton Prep had been practicing crossing the road yesterday afternoon and that the bus prefects now had a duty to see them across when they were being dropped off and we had many expressions of goodwill. I came back and took Debbie to see Della for a while and then came home until Della became anxious and so Di went back again
A better night's sleep and so much rested when awaking this I was able to sleep quite well and got Debbie up and we were getting on well with the morning arrangements when we received a call from Diana to say that she could not cope any more at the hospital. I was intending to go over there anyway and all that the call did was to make Debbie and I anxious for no real reason. I dropped Debbie off at the school bus stop and then drove on to the hospital by which time Diana had recovered her composure but was still exhausted and ready to come home. I took over and tidied up the area of Della's bed and then fed her a bowl of tomato soup and a roll and butter that came around lunch-time.
