A lay in on Poppy-Day and to see the poignant Remembrance Parade later at The Cenotaph but also to take Debbie to her horse-riding at Great Staughton in the meantime.
Daniel and Angela helped Di and I with Della and she also had visits from friends. I typed up the minutes of the last HDC LibDem Group Meeting and made up an agenda and got copies to all my group members and also heard from Nigel who had worked out the flights to Scotland for our trip at the end of the week
Had a bit of a lay in this morning as Diana did not call me and it was nearly 8.00am before I woke up. I then took a tray of tea in to Daniel for him to share with Angela and went in to see Debbie with her morning drink. Di had left a note about horse-riding and so I had to get them all up (which I did) and then took them out for breakfast at the Little Chef at Southoe. We enjoyed that meal and then I took Debbie to Great Staughton as Daniel and Angela went up to Hinchingbrooke to relieve Diana. Then home for a little while, making coffee to have with Diana when she got back.

After some family chores, I made a dash to Norfolk to lay up Heronshaw and the Paxton Princess, adjusting the moorings and exchanging the boat cover. Back to find that Daniel had taken in the new TV and trolley as I finished the evening with Della in Holly Ward watching Bambi on the video!
I was quite tired this morning as Della only goes to sleep after 10.30pm and I would really like an early night one day. Di woke me again this morning in our normal routine and I had breakfast with Debbie and then gave her a lift to the bus stop as she was complaining about the two large bags she had to carry. I then tended the doves and fish, watered the conservatory, and then set off for Norfolk. I had decided that today was probably going to be the best day to get to Heronshaw to do some urgent work. I had intended to go a week ago, but Della's accident put that off.

I asked Dr Wright for advice over Della's traction after Della had a fitful night and had been sick and then had a meeting with the fracture ward sister and senior Houseman who adjusted her treatment and made her leg more secure. Then to visit Nigel to make plans for visiting Thormaid before Daniel and Angela arrived and visited Della with me, who was much more settled
I was tired after my sightly later night and was slow to wake up this morning. Diana went off to the hospital as usual and I had breakfast with Debbie before getting ready to settle down to some work. My priority was a letter to Dr Wright to brief him on our reasons to doubt the hospital treatment for Della and to ask that he visits her today and then advised us. Then the telephone went and it was Di from the hospital to tell me that Della had a fitful night and was sick at 4.00am this morning which we found very worrying.

As Della’s care became more stable, I was able to attend Council Meetings and found Little Paxton Parish Council in a positive and expansive mood but I was still unhappy with Della's traction. A milder day after the recent frosts but the main news was the death at sea of business tycoon, Robert Maxwell
I had got Della off to sleep soon after 10.00pm last night and was therefore able to get a fairly full night myself. Di woke me at 7.00am as usual and then went off to the hospital. She was able to leave Della with Linda, the play supervisor from Eaton Socon, for the rest of the morning and we then took turns to spend time with her for the afternoon and evening. I was at home for much of the time in the afternoon and got quite a lot of paperwork done and our financial affairs up to date.
