A mild day becoming windy, tearing at The Hayling View, during which Della joined me as I walked the dog to the school bus stop to see Debbie off and on to the local shop for Saturday sweets.
Then for a long walk around the gravel pits and she was intrigued by a fox hole and the muntjac deer tracks which had freshened overnight. Debbie joined us later over to Mill Meadow and used the dummy launcher for the first time. Also telephoning my mother to arrange a visit to Stanton tomorrow on my way back to Norfolk
I arranged for Della to get up early this morning and she came into bed with me before breakfast. The morning routine, feeding the doves and fish in Bill's absence and then Della joined me as I walked the dog to the school bus stop to see Debbie off and then on to the local shop for Della to buy her Saturday sweets. Della stayed with me for a long walk around the gravel pits and she was intrigued by a fox hole and the muntjac deer tracks which had freshened overnight. Sam and Della did not get on too badly together and he only jumped up once.

Settling the girls down on their journeys to and from school, taking Sam accordingly and more long training walks for him as well as a shopping visit to St Neots with Diana.
I was resisting Debbie’s number of GSCE’s being reduced by Kimbolton. Today saw the first air attack has taken place on Iraq since Bill Clinton has become US President.
Awake on time and just needed a wash and shave as I had a bath and hair-wash last night. Breakfast with the whole family and then out to feed and exercise Sam. I took him along to the bus stop so as to be able to kiss goodbye to Della as she started her journey off to school. Then a long walk across Mill Meadow opposite, getting back before the onset of rain that claimed the later dog-walkers. A little time on my tax affairs and then off to St Neots with Diana, treating her to a coffee first in Brackenbury's and then touring the building societies whilst she did the week's shopping at Waitrose.

On a milder and windy day, I was training Sam to be less excited by contact and be steadier to people and he was also following muntjac tracks in the gravel pits. Di and I are both slimming with some success and Della has gone to school all right for the last couple of days but is still tetchy.
A quiet day of wind and mild temperatures that saw me out a lot with Sam. I introduced him to Diana at length as he is generally unsteady in the presence of people and is inclined to jump up. I think that this is because he is kept in a kennel yet loves humans and is too excited when they approach. One of my walks with him was back to the gravel pits where I had seen what I thought was Muntjac Deer tracks and, sure enough, I was able to see even more today.

Della goes off to school successfully and we book our forthcoming holiday for California today, despite British Airways stubbornness. A shopping trip to Peterborough buying things for Sam and home to catch up on administration for Glisson Printers.
Bill Clinton has taken over from George Bush as United States President and Iraq has announced an unconditional cease-fire and hopes for a better relationship with the new man.
The normal routine this morning when Diana and I were pleased that Della went to school without too much fuss and bother. I saw the gardener for a chat and asked him to creosote the sheds as soon as possible after he had finished raking the games lawn. I shot a wood pigeon and, added to the other that I defrosted from the freezer, this made a pair for me to prepare and cook for tea tonight. Debbie and I enjoyed them greatly.
