Nothing of interest for me in the Wroxham Boat Auction but then on to Carrow Road to see the Norwich City defeat to Tottenham. Hotspur in luxury as Sam recovered his strength as I took him by car to St Bennett's Abbey for training
Diana allowed us to lay in and complained later that Sam had been whining from 6.00am until after 8.30am but I had been fast asleep and had Ben told nothing. A quick wash and out to tend our canine friend who had just been keen to get out and had not messed his run at all.

I took him on a slightly longer walk than yesterday and his obedience was good but I had little chance for any productive training. A fair meal of chicken and boiled white rice for him after with a mug of Repnor Gold added to start the process of return to his normal routine. Diana off with the girls to Wroxham for some shopping whilst I first chat to Joan and Trevor Grey next door about Arthur Edmunds quoting for some road repairs and then went to look in on the boat and chandlery auction.
Nothing there but very poor and unattractive bits and pieces and so I went back to Harnser with Sam and occupied the rest of the morning barrowing roof tiles from the collapsed pile in the dog's run over to the new stack amongst the building materials. Jack Edwards called by and, though I chatted to him in a friendly manner, I did not give him any money this time as I was still thinking about the toilet pump being left on and could not think that he had done much for me recently. Soon Diana was back and, after settling the girls down, I took her into Norwich and along to Carrow Road for our special afternoon of football.
A little trouble getting our car parking disc but, once this was obtained, we entered the "International Carvery Lounge" and were given our programmes and a table for two in comfort to eat whilst the time passed by before kick-off. Some nice soup, a queue for the carvery for beef and three vegetables and then back again for a pudding with coffee to follow. The programme read, the places found, we settled down for the match on padded seats in high expectation. What the seats at £60 a time can not guarantee is a good result and, despite playing well and scoring a well-worked and skilful goal, Norwich City conceded two to Tottenham Hotspur with a defensive lapse that let Ted Sherringham transfer the ball from one foot to the other and score unchallenged followed by another where a shot was put past Brian Gunn by a defender's deflection.
Given that Norwich had more opportunities and shots and also missed a penalty, the loss should have been a victory. Home somewhat crest-fallen and disappointed. The atmosphere behind the glass panel was dull and, being seated with some travelling Spurs fans that were voicing their slanted view of things, I had to respond and had a few verbal tussles to support the team! At least the team of my childhood needed the points to keep clear of relegation and got them.
The evening run for Sam who I took by car to St Bennett's Abbey, using the map this time to find it! He was quite steady to hares at a distance and obeyed the stop whistle but his quartering pattern was non-existent and only the whistle and call back could turn him when I wanted to. At least he looked keen and fit and ate well upon his return home but he seems very unprepared for his coming days' training sessions. A call to Jim making our arrangements and then I was first to bath and wash my hair before updating today's journal.
