Client meeting with Southampton Byte Shop on a mild and damp day to resolve quality issues with Gangnail and then back to Comart to check on accounts progress and approve the payroll as NGA calls off mass picketing for lack of TUS support
Early to the office to collect papers for today’s visit to Gangnail. Sharp words with John over policies and off by car to Fareham. The journey in wet weather through a crowded London North Circular Road was tortuous and I arrived at the Little Chef rendezvous just on time to meet Russ Wilmott of the Southampton Byte Shop. A tactics discussion and then on to Gangnail Software to meet Technical Director, Peter Jackson, to hear a tale of sorry reliability from our products last summer.
The Tandon disk drives and poor concern has cost us dearly but fortunately we had got here in time and will draw on a reservoir of underlying goodwill. Action agreed and matters resolved. Quickly home to arrive with half an hour to spare to check around on progress. Derek W already off home early, David Wood (ill of late) working on alone but all else proceeding reasonably. A desk full of work to handle and the entire payroll to approve before home late and to bed. News today of the NGA deciding, in the absence of TUC support, to call off mass picketing. Weather mild but damp.
