Mild day at home celebrating our 15th anniversary as I feel a bad cold coming on and I get calls and listen to tales of the harsh weather in the US and human toll following the Harrods car bombing
I do not sleep too well and wake early to take a drink of water and toilet before returning to bed. Then a lay in and us both woken by Debbie until Diana brought the drinks. Breakfast of toast and fruit juice and then to read the Times which is still short of substance and real news. We realise that today is our 15th wedding anniversary but do not celebrate the event in any particular way.
Some home paperwork this morning as I pay school fees and reconcile my bank account. A slow start as I find it very difficult to get down to serious work. I do manage to start Daniel at his extra study, making him write a three page essay (which he is upset about) and write a program to test his knowledge of the tables (which is more to his liking.) A fine lunch (turkey again) and an afternoon and evening a cross between reading and relaxing. This evening I received a police call to the factory but the matter was a false alarm and probably John leaving at 5.00pm and not locking up carefully. A phone call from my Mother this morning that showed how much she appreciated our visit yesterday. News today still of the continuing harsh weather in America – the worse for 50 years they say. In England, the wife of the Police Lieutenant, killed in the Harrods car bombing is interviewed and cannot forgive. The Nation continues quiet in this season of hibernation but the weather continues exceptionally mild. To bed a little this evening with a big cold coming on.
