A cold and wet and windy day in Horning but the Paxton Princess was up to the task and not leaking overnight after which we visited Wroxham Barns café for a warm drink and snacks. Then some shopping before taking the girls to the Horning Leisure Centre where we first went swimming and then sat and had our afternoon tea.
Then some evening TV and time to update my journal. The news is of the hostage exchange getting underway again between Arabs and the Israeli captives
We slept reasonably and then woke on another cold and wet day having had a bit of a lay in. It was around 8.00am and I suggested that we have breakfast before getting washed and dressed as we were going our different ways. A nice but slow meal with the girls intent on earning "crew points" by making another meal of each job. The girls simply washed down in the boat and I went up to Heronshaw to have a shave and bath. As they finished off getting ready, I mopped off the boat which was quite wet with all the rain. Despite the previous wind and continuing rain, we have not found any leaks in the boat and it is quite comfortable whilst we are connected to the shore-power.

That finished, we all got into Di's car and drove into Wroxham to take back the video we had hired from Excel and then we went on to Wroxham Barns where the first order of business was a warm drink. I thanked the staff for their "compassion" when they opened the snack bar a couple of minutes early at 10.28am and we relaxed until the first misbehaviour of the girls over their drink and food. After this, Diana and I had a look around the craft shops and left the girls skipping under shelter as the rain fell. We bought some stationery and other odds and ends and then ordered a couple of local prints to be framed and a beautifully-turned bowl with a brass nut-press installed in the centre which was Di's present to me for my forthcoming birthday.
All back in the car as the rain fell with the girls in disgrace having argued again. Then off to Wroxham where we had lunch at the Bridge Restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed it. Even the girls ate nicely but were rather impatient at the delay. This afternoon, we went to the Horning Leisure Centre where we first went swimming and then sat and had our afternoon tea. The girls took ages to wash their hair and so I went for a walk and looked at all of the boats that were for sale. Back to the boat at Heronshaw afterwards and the girls were pleased to relax on their bunks as I caught up with my reading of the Sunday papers. Tea and then some evening TV and time to update my journal.
The news is of the hostage exchange getting underway again as first the Arabs pass on news of the Israeli captives and then more Arabs are due for release and, with that, should come the release of another Western hostage. The weather continues cold and wet as we hope for some respite.
