The weather was milder again and the frost seems to vary day by day depending on the weather systems and cloud cover.

Up and to breakfast and then along the dyke road with Sam before embarking on a strenuous two-hour session of nail and timber saving.

As well as removing the nails from two more giant beams, I also sorted through the timber piles and pulled out further timber that I intended to save.

Then the journey home, finding the traffic quite trying on this pre-Christmas Friday. I stopped off on the way at Addenbrooke's clinic where I had made an appointment about my continuing inflammation and fears about developing Genital Warts.

I was seen a little early and the doctor there immediately established that the inflammation was not Thrush any more and did not think that the spots were warts developing.

After consultation with a senior male doctor, she prescribed a steroid cream to be used sparingly and recommended using a soap-substitute to avoid eczema-type reactions and inflammation.

Wiggly soon arrived and was seen and also got the all-clear so that neither Wiggly or I with warts or anything infective. She had also come and was seen early and so we had time for a Grantchester walk and then went back for a cup of tea at her place.

We exchanged cards and I gave her the ring with which she was very pleased. I just arrived home in time for tea and then took Diana and girls to the cinema in Bedford for the evening to see "Nightmare before Christmas", a ghoulish cartoon which was quite horrifying really but they enjoyed it.

Back early and these journal notes before an early retirement to bed, intending to get up early in the morning.
