The dogs eventually settled down and Jim and I got ourselves up at 6.00am to give them a walk before we set off for the German Short-haired Pointer Association Championship Show at Coventry. Fortunately, Sam's tummy upset seemed to have passed and there was no problem in his kennel or in Jim's car on the way.

Sam's tummy upset dominated the day as Jim arrived later with Ben to share his kennel. Together to Thetford Forestry Commission for an interesting talk on the problems of growing trees and protecting them from pests. Later, following England Test progress.
It was clearer and a little cooler as the sun came out. Problems overnight for Sam as he had a tummy upset and messed the blankets in his kennel for the first time in ages. I was concerned about him, took things gently and then called Jim to warn him and seek advice.

On a day that started rainy, I spent it at home fitting wire mesh to the dovecote preparing for Jim’s new dove arrivals. A trip up to Peterborough after lunch to get Sam some more dog food and I took him hunting across the Manor Farm, Molesworth.
Several telephone calls today to LibDem political activists getting them to agree roles and actions in the forthcoming campaign
Although the day started with rainy spells, it got better, and I was able to get out to do some work on my pole-cote. I fashioned a cage of wire mesh around this dovecote ready for the arrival of four new pure white fantail doves that I expect to arrive with Jim on Sunday morning.

As the new gardener does well, completing year end administration and then chairing an election planning meeting with two good new candidates joining us after a busy day. A couple of useful walks with Sam who is daily getting better with his waterwork and dummy-holding.
Another fine day as the gardener came and mowed & strimmed the grass for once, now that the garden is starting to grow again. Diana had agreed that Debbie could have Tabatha to stay and Della had her friend Michelle Brown and so we had our hands full.
