Off to Bower Hill Epping for dog training with Martin when Sam completed a couple of simple tracking tests very well. Home to Paxton for a late tea of left-overs in the lounge and then I writing up these last two days' journal after making a few telephone calls
Another nice sunny day for my outing to Epping but first Diana and I slept in very late and it was after 9.00am before I was up and into the bathroom. Normally Diana is long gone from my bed in the morning and so I had to tarry a while with her first! A quick wash and shave, dressed, bowl-full of cereal and then a short walk with Sam before setting off with him in the car.

I drove towards Cambridge and picked up the M11 to drive south and was at Bower Hill, Epping, to meet Martin Sullivan well before our rendezvous time of 11.00am. After a coffee and chat with him and his family, we went over to some open land to exercise Sam and then set him a couple of simple tracking tests to do. He did well on these and Martin felt that he has a talent for it. A pub lunch and then on to some woodland where we walked Sam with Martin's dog, Henry, and they got on quite well together. Home to Paxton for a late tea of left-overs in the lounge and, rather than competing with the family for the TV satellite programme that I wanted, I opted for my office where I wrote up these last two days' journal after making a few telephone calls.
