Sam's tummy upset dominated the day as Jim arrived later with Ben to share his kennel. Together to Thetford Forestry Commission for an interesting talk on the problems of growing trees and protecting them from pests. Later, following England Test progress.
It was clearer and a little cooler as the sun came out. Problems overnight for Sam as he had a tummy upset and messed the blankets in his kennel for the first time in ages. I was concerned about him, took things gently and then called Jim to warn him and seek advice.

He suggested calling the vet, which I did, but he just recommended starving Sam overnight to see how he got on. In the end, I decided that he had been given varying amounts of different food lately and so I just gave him a smaller portion of his normal Repnor Gold as he is not the type of dog that could miss his food! More progress from England today in the West Indies as they held their own and batted themselves into a fair lead in the Third Test. Over to Thetford this evening and there attended a British Deer Society meeting and took Jim as a guest.
There was a talk by the head ranger of the Thetford part of the Forestry Commission and he gave an interesting talk on the problems of growing trees and protecting them from pests. Jim came back to The Hayling View afterwards so that we could set off direct for Coventry in the morning. The clocks were due to go forward overnight, losing us a night's sleep and we were very late to bed anyway! Further problems as Sam was difficult about sharing his kennel with a nervous Ben so that they took a while to settle down together with Ben whining and barking at being left outside in the run!
