I was still tired after the week but carried gamely on with my journal and being political advisor to this new enlarged HDC LibDem group. we had the early morning spectacle of Debbie's guests Tabby and Jo joining her for a swim which was quite amusing.
I was also becoming advisor for the neighbouring St Ives by-election planning, planning to attend their branch meeting to help reconcile warring factions.
This was nothing compared with another huge row has broken out in the Tory party in the wake of their humiliation in the local elections and, with the Euro Elections coming soon, they are in complete disarray.
I was still tired after the week but carried gamely on with my journal, completing the belated updates by late afternoon. Debbie's party friends had a picnic tea and were up late last night swimming by the light of the pool floodlight and then again this morning before leaving for home.

Her arrangements went reasonably well and she had a good birthday and for that we should be relieved. I called Chris Colbert to retrieve my campaign manual copy and also Louise to do the same thing. She has still not heard anything from her boyfriend and is rehearsing tonight for her forthcoming play.
She did not sound too disheartened and has been invited by Percy to be the new HDC LibDem Group Secretary which I think is an excellent idea. we had the early morning spectacle of Debbie's guests Tabby and Jo joining her for a swim which was quite amusing. It is surprising that Jo is regarded as the centre of attraction amongst the girls for she has a plain face and sturdy figure. Tabby is nice and slim with sleek movement and outgoing and fun personality and was obviously the one to suggest the morning dip. Zoe has a gorgeous body, blondish hair and face but is quite quiet.
In all, Debbie, though slow on the uptake, is the prettier and certainly has the most pleasant personality and once she is over her youthful skin problems will hold her own in any female company. And now she is fifteen like the rest of them and, though young for her age, is growing up fast! Zoe had to leave early and then Di had to take Tabby home, but Jo stayed for a while until 11.30am. They did not seem to want Debbie's Birthday Cake but the family enjoyed it. Della was making an even bigger meal of her homework all day but Daniel had his friends round swimming and playing tennis.
I tackled him later about the arrangements for the repair of my old dad's car and got him to write a chasing fax. I was still catching up on my post-election work and finding time to walk Sam who is starting to get the attention that he deserves. I carried on working on the local elections as it seemed that my help would now be needed for the St Ives area by-election at Hilton & Hemingford Abbots. I appear to be the only person that can bridge the warring factions in our local branch and get them working together.
Some very long telephone conversations trying to organise the selection of a local person with existing links with the community and our attentions then focused on a Hilton Parish Councillor whose wife organises the Village Hall Committee but he had already offered to serve for the Tories!
so, we tried to convince him to stand for us and the talks went on. It seemed that the only way in which I could get the personalities together was to address their branch meeting tomorrow night but their chairman, Dr David Hunter, was not keen. It took a number of telephone calls to other party colleagues to convince him of the wisdom of inviting me and eventually I got the call. Another huge row has broken out in the Tory party in the wake of their humiliation in the local elections and, with the Euro Elections coming soon, they are in complete disarray.
