Hot day for Byte Shop Management action and Comart stock check but fine for evening cruise to St Neots pub
A very fine and very hot day with temperatures rising to the mid 80’s. Early to work after letting out the ducks from the duckhouse. I was relieved to find that they had suffered no ill effects from the liberal coat of creosote. To the office and a phone call to David Slater to call him to the office tomorrow afternoon, today not being convenient because of the Nottingham stock take. Arrangements also to see Bob Robinson on Wednesday, Peter King on Thursday for breakfast, Russ Wilmott on Friday.

Sunny day finishing the Duck Hotel, The 'Duck City', and evening paperwork – hard work but mentally relaxing
A glorious sunny day and early to the Duck house with Daniel to give its first coat of Creosote. Then to assemble Diana’s hose and reel and a good sprinkling for the garden. Mid-morning coffee on “The Lady” moored alongside as we feed the little ducklings splendidly on pieces of brown bread. The ducks have fared the night well, and the 11th chick, though weak, is feeding and starting to preen.

Duck Hotel construction, garden buying and a barbecue as weather improves
A showery start whilst we strip the old duck house and take the old sections back to the garage. We see what additional wood we need and so off to St Neots for this and some purchases for Diana. For her a new garden hose and through feed reel, the lawnmower off to repair in Great Paxton and a new electric hedge trimmer ordered. Then the rest of the day building “The Duck Hotel”, a splendid creation completed by duck with floor-boarding.

Duck hutch building, Byte Shop resignations/ mayhem and Speaker Thomas’s enoblement
An early morning completing my plans for the “Duck Hotel”. Then the Comart mail to peruse. As I am getting up to date on the Company Administration for Bytesoft Systems Ltd., now the new Byte Shop Southampton and a lot of small tasks. Off in mid-morning to Tebbut’s where I place a whole order for wood, to be ready cut into the correct lengths.
