Sunny day finishing the Duck Hotel, The 'Duck City', and evening paperwork – hard work but mentally relaxing
A glorious sunny day and early to the Duck house with Daniel to give its first coat of Creosote. Then to assemble Diana’s hose and reel and a good sprinkling for the garden. Mid-morning coffee on “The Lady” moored alongside as we feed the little ducklings splendidly on pieces of brown bread. The ducks have fared the night well, and the 11th chick, though weak, is feeding and starting to preen.
Admiring visitors for our Duck Hotel from John Tomblin and our plot neighbours who have come to enjoy the sunny day. A summer tea beside the river and the duck house is finished with roof, felt and inner divisions that can be disassembled to combine the 10ft house into three. To the house for a weary bath at 9pm and time to catch up on my home paperwork. This weekend, though tiring, has been a fair relaxation from the worries of the computer industry. Tomorrow I must start two reviews and act quickly to meet David Slater.
