Hillsborough Disaster Inquiry blames police actions for deaths

An early morning for me, visiting Diana and trying some fishing before breakfast in the coolness and mist before the sun came up and we went swimming. Gary Skinner arrived with his dad to stay a few days and enjoyed playing with Daniel on his new speedboat before we moved to Reedham and had a barbecue on the quay after which the boys had a trip to Great Yarmouth. A public enquiry concludes that policing was mostly to blame for the Hillsborough tragedy

I awoke early in the Burgh St Peter Marina and visited Diana’s bank before getting up. Then dressed and out to try my hand at a bit of fishing in the marina. There were sprays of bubbles around, but I’d only managed to catch a single small fish when I gave up. The thing was that, after my experience with eels here (and I caught another large one last night, I was reluctant to fish on the bottom or bait up the swim. It was quite cool and misty before the sun came up and then hot and sunny thereafter.

I just shaved this morning as we went swimming after breakfast. Whilst we had the sliding roof back and were eating breakfast, Daniel’s friend Gary Skinner arrived with his dad and they joined us for coffee. Daniel has joined us as a friend for Daniel for a few days. We stayed here quite a while and had lunch at the Waveney Inn before setting off and this gave Daniel and Gary a chance to try out the speedboat which was now working again.

We set off in convoy, Daniel in the speedboat and Gary in the Little Lady, and moved up to Reedham. We had a barbecue at the quay and then the boys took the speedboat across Breydon water to Great Yarmouth and had lots of fun. The engine ran reasonably but misfires and will not tick over slowly.

We stayed aboard The Lady whilst they were gone, read and attended to the girls. The news seems to be about the aftermath of the Hillsborough tragedy with a public enquiry concluding that the policing was mostly to blame with a whole list of ground and organisational improvements being desirable as well to avoid crashes in the out of grounds.
