Canvassing Southoe ready for them to vote in their Village Hall

These two days preparing ourselves for the election, canvassing some of Southoe personally and then printing off and delivering tactical letters to Green party and Labour supporters. Also assembling teams of tellers for the many polling stations and overcoming delivery problems before preparing well for polling day

I spent these two days preparing for our election attempt. I canvassed Southoe personally as well as I could in two sessions and then helping Percy print off and deliver the letter aimed at Green party and Labour supporters. I was also getting together the polling day telling teams that were to operate at Southoe, Buckton, Offord (and Gransden) not to mention Little Paxton. We are so short of members that friends, relatives and neighbours were all being brought in to help and Michael and Des had to find their own. By evening, we had established that we have problems with Percy’s eve of poll/good morning slips and their delivery due to a misunderstanding with his agent and I therefore spent until 1am delivering a batch of them myself. Moira has set up a computer system in the Buckden committee room and was ready to go.
