Daniel's friends - Gary, Steve and Jason - were round to watch a video film on the TV

A day working day at home after yesterday’s party with plenty of visitors for the children using the games lawn for tennis and back to the sports centre for more swimming such that there were many mouths to eat up Debbie’s birthday food.

Then to edit my Focus copy, which had been too focussed on Derek and Ross, to feature our other councillors as well. The national news is of the Tories falling still further behind in the opinion polls so everybody are now discussing the possibility of the Conservative government losing the next election.

We had something of a rest after yesterday's exertions, but Debbie came to breakfast with her guest and we were also joined by Daniel and Angela. Angela carried on doing certain of her revision, but they ended up with Daniel's friends - Gary, Steve and Jason - round to watch a video film on the TV. This morning, I played with the girls on the tennis lawn and then left them to it when it started to rain. They then went back off to the sports centre to join the family skating session until later. Derek Giles was back round this afternoon with his latest FOCUS changes. The problem was that the Eaton Socon copy was too polarised between Derek and Ross with the others left on the side-lines.

I also had a call from Chris Colbert along the same lines and so undertook a number of changes to try and balance this aspect. Derek and Anne-Marie stayed for tea with a room full of Daniel's and Debbie's friends and so we eventually ate up the food remaining from yesterday. This evening, I settled back down to doing the FOCUS copy and added my own stories for Little Paxton, Southoe and Diddington before going to bed after mid-night. The national news is of the Tories falling still further behind in the opinion polls and so even the most conservative of newspapers is now discussing the possibility of the Conservative government losing the next election. Paddy Ashdown is getting rave personal reviews, but the Liberal Democrats are still only polling 14% plus. The odds are now on a 1992 election as far as I am concerned.
