Debbie off for her French school trip.
Debbie off for her French school trip.

A day driving to a pet store in Peterborough and then to Milton Keynes to collect a gun cabinet before seeing Debbie off for her French school trip.

The temperature fell to 10degC in London, for a while, the coldest July day since records began.

The G7 meeting ended up with a further agreement for a huge development loan for Russia as the key part of the former Soviet Union.

The day ended with us waving goodbye to Deborah who was off to Normandy for a week on a school trip and with Della unexpectedly in tears as she was sad to see her go! It started raining overnight and this continued for much of the day. Della joined me in taking the dog for a walk in the pouring rain but we both enjoyed it even if we did get very wet. I had to drive to Peterborough this morning to Jolleye's, the pet superstore, and Della also joined me for that. I bought sacks of food for the doves, fish and dog and marvelled just how much they all eat.

Diana was back from her shopping expedition in time to make lunch and, after this, I took off in the car again - this time for Milton Keynes. For some time I had been putting off the important job of installing a gun cabinet; a condition of getting my firearms certificate. I had decided at last to buy one and had made arrangements to collect one today. Milton Keynes is a terrible place to visit. The development has made it a huge area of roundabouts and traffic signs and I had to stop and study an information board to find Kiln Farm Estate. Back in time for tea and then out with Diana to the cinema in Peterborough again; seeing the Sylvester Stallone film, "Cliffhanger".

Then we came back to see Debbie off for her school trip. Daniel had volunteered to take her and, once loaded up, we said farewell and off she went. Along with the rain today came some unseasonably low temperatures. In London, 10degC for a while, represented the lowest temperature for a July day since records began. The G7 meeting ended up with a further agreement for a huge development loan for Russia as the key part of the former Soviet Union.
