Or cruise from Great Yarmouth Marina up the River Yare to Norwich, stopping off at Brundall Boatique for an item or two.
Eventually moored close to Bishops Bridge and then the walk through the park by Cow Tower (where we got the girls some conkers) and on up into the city centre.
This evening, we settled the girls down with Sam in his box and then I took Diana for the first time to the Vagabond Floating Riverside Restaurant.
Our berth at Yarmouth Marina was quite satisfactory and, even though it is near to the heliport, it was quiet as well.

It seems strange that this marina is not operating commercially any more and that you can moor free of charge. A good run for Sam and then we had to leave fairly early to catch the Bure Bridges when the water was low enough.
Even then, we delayed our departure until most of the other boats had gone so that we could enjoy the assistance of a strong flood tide to carry us across Breydon Water and up the River Yare. We cruised on and then stopped off at the Brundall Boatique for lunch, to top up with water and to buy a few things.
It is notable that every shop and eating place treats holidaymakers really badly; bullying and ignoring them in equal measure without the customary courtesy that you would expect. Perhaps the average boat crew are morons, but they will not come back if treated as such.
It has always been a struggle at Brundall to be able to moor your own boat how you would like without somebody grabbing the ropes and trying to do it as they would like it! At least we bought another oil-absorbent pad for the bilges and a replacement light fitting for the galley so that we could see there again. Then on up-stream so that we arrived at Norwich at 4.00pm.
At first it seemed that there was no space there but we found a berth right up at the far end by the Bishops Bridge. Our regular harbourmaster, Neville, was not there but we got a message from him once he was back from a break as he was sorry to miss us!
Once we had moored satisfactorily, I took Sam, Diana and the girls for the walk along the Wensum, through the park by Cow Tower (where we got the girls some conkers) and on up into the city centre. Although, the shops were closing, we still enjoyed the look around.
