After my morning dog walking and training regime with Sam after another cold night, the trip to Jarrold’s for morning coffee with the girls before meeting up with Daniel at Julian Gunn, the contact lens specialists.
Then shopping for shooting decoys, watching televised rugby and cricket before a family louting to Cromer cinema to see "Save Willy", a moving film about the plight of a killer whale held in captivity.
We experienced another cold night and 7.30am call but, allowing Debbie to use the bathroom first, I climbed in bed with Diana for warmth and company until it was light. Breakfast together and then me out with Sam, taking him for a relatively short run along the roads in the morning frost and doing some obedience work.

I then set off with Diana and the girls in the Ford Escort for Norwich in time for us to have morning coffee in Jarrold’s before Di and Debbie met up with Daniel at Julian Gunn, the contact lens specialists. I took Della to the book department of Jarrold’s and then dropped her off at the library so that I could have a look around the gun shops. I bought ten "squashable" pigeon decoys, some dummy blanks and ear plugs and then collected Della to meet up with the others for lunch at The Pizza Hut. It was nice to see Daniel for lunch before he left for home.
I spent the afternoon watching England lose a close International Rugby Union match to Ireland which was particularly depressing as the home team kicked everything and were totally negative. Debbie had given Sam a run, but I also took him out for training. A walk past The Black Horse to find a field suitable to try some hunting and quartering but found Sam rather disobedient until I gave him a hiding when he performed better. Some good retrieves, even so, with a dead pigeon so that I was quite pleased with his efforts in the end.
Back for an early tea of mackerel salad and then I drove the family off to the Cromer Regal where we saw "Save Willy", a moving film about the plight of a killer whale held in captivity. Whilst driving there and back and, again once back at Harnser, I listened to Test Match Special on the radio where, after an encouraging start, the England test match side lost a veritable cascade of wickets in their first test match against the West Indies.
