Some time on telephone calls to party colleagues planning the elections and agreeing to take part in a campaign training session this Saturday. A long call also from Jim planning the dates for us to be away dog-training. An evening's break, watching England make a better start to the Second Test match against The West Indies in Georgetown Guyana where they were put in to bat but made 260-odd for 4 at the end of the first day with captain Mike Atherton carrying his bat for 130 not out.
The news of Northern Ireland again where Sein Fein were making more hopeful noises to their American audience in the St Patrick Day jousting. The Irish Prime Minister was in The White House today with President Clinton who endorsed the Downing Street Declaration. More agonising in the former Yugoslavia as the major British charities link for yet another humanitarian appeal for funds to aid the war victims.
