I had committed to giving a short talk to a Cambridgeshire group of Liberal Democrats over at Hinchingbrooke School, Huntingdon and then returned to watch some England Rugby before taking Diana out for a pizza and then on to the cinema in Peterborough to see "Schindler's List"

It was a nice sunny day and I enjoyed a short sharp run with Sam. I had him entering the water correctly for once in the morning and then crossing the river onto the island to retrieve this afternoon. I had committed to giving a short talk to a Cambridgeshire group of Liberal Democrats over at Hinchingbrooke School, Huntingdon, and so made my way to that.

As usual, I found the assembly rather old in years, slow in action and rather interested in hearing themselves talk. It was therefore quite frustrating to hear them rambling on but I tried to inject some sense of purpose and interest into my own talk about the use of computers in campaigning and hope that I succeeded. I stayed for lunch and then rushed back to see the tense England vs France Rugby Union match at Twickenham.

England needed to beat France by a clear 14 points to take the Five Nations Championship and might have managed this at one time; but France held on and England had to be content with just a clear victory. Della bravely went to stay overnight with a school friend in Kettering and, with Debbie and Daniel wanting to stay in to watch the television, I took Diana out for a pizza and then on to the cinema in Peterborough to see "Schindler's List" which was a suitably harrowing and moving portrayal of the holocaust.
