More than 40 years, told day by day
A slow start after a late and cold night and then Debbie off to school as I get out with Sam for some waterwork on a milder day before taking Diana and the girls to The Happy Eater as their choice for lunch. There an unfortunately bad service.
Back home this afternoon to see some good Rugby League on the TV with Wigan being soundly beaten for once by Leeds in the Trophy Cup Final. We had a new satellite aerial, tuner and decoder installed this morning and the picture quality was much improved.
I excelled myself last night and stayed up even later than usual and was then too cold to get to sleep easily. This until I switched my electric blanket on to maximum, fell asleep and then found myself waking up so hot that I was like a cat on a hot tin roof! Diana was not best pleased. A shower and then dressed last for breakfast. Debbie off to school and me out with Sam.

The weather stayed fine and mild today and the wind and rain held off until after dark. I was creosoting the far side of the Heronshaw garage, setting the alarm and then walking Sam before driving from Horning to Paxton.
Membership details on the British Deer Society awaited me on my return together with the latest version of P.C. Maritime Navigator. I tried this new software until far too late with Della watching me for company.
Another reluctant start after another late night but I eventually got shaved, dressed, had my cereal breakfast and got out with Sam for a long walk across Crabbett's Marsh road. Quite tired after getting back and so chose to do the final set-up from the alarm system for which I could just sit on a stool. Then out to creosote the far side of the garage as I had got permission from Doris Vincent to get on her drive for that purpose. Chatted to her also about the property and road maintenance as well as the recent floods for the water level had been up high again with the northerly winds.

The Lord Chief Justice and The House of Lords oppose the government over its planned reforms to the criminal justice system and magistracy.
My visit to Norfolk had been planned to put the Discovery in for the repair of its electrical fault and the rest of these three days planned round it to use the time to work at Horning. My automatic radio gave me my morning call at 7.00am after an unsettled night trying to keep warm and comfortable in a different bed. I was reluctant to rise and the more so as the sky was clear and the day cold.

Letting Diana go to Cambridge on her own and to her parents, after taking the girls to the bus stop, I took Sam for a walk across the common on another cold and frosty morning.
Then struggling with the planning officer over Cambridge Street parking, I drove from Paxton to Horning where the water was still very high and heavy rain and strong winds tore at Harnser as I work inside during the evening.
The death toll has risen to over 30 in Los Angeles and the earthquake has been estimated at 6.6 on the Richter Scale. Five freeways are blocked, and hundreds are left homeless
I had rather too much to attend to this morning and so I let Diana go to Cambridge on her own and she met her parents as usual. I was first up for breakfast but was finding it really tough to wake up around 7.00am on these cold winter mornings and would really have liked to lay in bed. I got out with Sam as the girls went through their normal fuss about getting ready for school and then took a walk across the common on another cold and frosty morning.

News today of a huge earthquake in the San Fernando area near Los Angeles in Southern California with 20 dead and freeway flyovers collapsed at junctions. At least today, Diana was happier having settled for a long week at EuroDisney
The weather continued chilly and I let Sam off of his swimming for the second day running. I then spent more time in my office working on my computers so that I now have a full range of spreadsheet and graphics software installed and available on my portable PC-compatible computer. But most of the day was tied up with two visits to Cambridge Street and efforts to try and get the parking spaces approved without preventing the further development of the site.
