Gales overnight with many trees down across Cambridgeshire as we heard that Labour won the South Wales by-election.
I mailed my amended report to LibDem colleagues and then joined family in Norfolk as girls break up from school.
We went to see to see the film, "Geronimo" at Cinema City and we enjoyed this two-hour glorification of the life of this Apache warrior
High winds brought down trees across Cambridgeshire in 30 different locations and so our experience was not untypical.

Labour won the South Wales by-election, with the Tories losing their deposit in fourth place behind Plyn Cymru and the Liberal Democrats who increased their vote. Complaints against privatised British Gas have increased to a record level.
A man said to be the world's biggest computer hacker has been detected and arrested for stealing company secrets and destroying databases across the US via the Internet and faces long imprisonment.
The girls were on their school half-term holiday and so I could lay in a while this morning, but Diana got up as usual. Then a longer walk with Sam before tackling quite a difficult administrative job.
As I had agreed to change the text of my letters and reports last night, I had to do a lot of photocopying and collating and so decided to invite Percy over to help me. He wanted to chat to me anyway and had received another letter from Stuart Littlewood and needed my advice.
He was there quite a while working away and I had time to shoot into town and get a fistful of postage stamps, pay some income cheques in and get some more cash out.
Diana and the girls had left earlier and were stopping off the Aqua Park where Della swam, Diana had her massage and Debbie sat and watched with her period. They had lunch at McDonalds before the girls spent time at Wroxham library whilst Diana deigned to shop at Roy’s instead of Tesco’s now that they have a larger food hall.
I eventually got ready, packed, loaded Sam up and took off, just having a bacon roll on the way to save time. I gave Wiggly a call and found that she was having a quiet time at work, a two-hour lunch break and was also planning to have a busy weekend without me.
She has booked time at the Eynesbury Recreation Centre Gym Club with Michael and has a few entertainments in mind with her friends as well as the chore of buying her new washing machine on Saturday.
I could not help missing her and feeling a little bit jealous which she also encourages with her teasing. Straight to Ropes Hill Dyke and there to see James and Bernice Durham; her all small, young and lively and he is stooping and ever more racked with his rheumatism.
She never sees me without mentioning not wanting to move her home here and I wonder, with the road all a pudding in the winter, whether it is for the best or not. Diana and the girls soon arrived, even before I had got unloaded, but I had left Harnser in a good and safe state and did not have to worry about coming in with them.
I sat and read as Diana tidied everything up before going out with Sam for his walk until Di and I set off for the evening's entertainment. A long-term plan to see the film, "Geronimo" at Cinema City and we enjoyed this two-hour glorification of the life of this Apache warrior.
Then the walk across the city to the waffle place at my behest and there we both ate a ham, cheese and mushroom waffle before walking back and driving home. The girls were fast asleep, which seemed funny, but the change of air and location always makes you tired.
I was a bit tired with Di this evening but survived the day and managed my late night quite well really. In fact, I stayed up equally late tonight, working on my Psion Money application, inputting details of our spending and finding out just how much it has been this last month and under various categories.
To bed after 1.00am, creeping upstairs to find the family fast asleep.
