Tiring but beautifully sunny day of business plan preparation and annual appraisals before an evening finding lack of progress on The Lady at Buckden Marina, as seven Cyprus RAF servicemen area arrested for spying and miners’ deadlock

Awake on time to another beautiful sunny but chilly day. A breakfast of toast and fruit juice after reading for a fair while in bed then off to the factory and down to work. More preparation and checking of the Business Plan and the first decisions on the annual appraisals. Then to chair a meeting of the management at 11.00am to look at the range of product introductions that are planned for the months ahead. A few minutes for a sandwich lunch and then down to several annual review sessions throughout the afternoon.

Lastly to get copied two versions of the Business Plan for the Marketing and Technical Directors to study over the weekend and chase up the remaining sections that we need to complete the exercise. Home quite early but very tired after the week’s exertions and, after collecting Diana and Debbie, off to Offord and the Buckden Marine to check up on my boat engine repairs. Disappointed to find absolutely no work undertaken all week and so home to tea and an evening’s relaxation in front of the television after putting away the ducks. News today of the arrest of 7 RAF servicemen stationed at Cypress on charges of spying and revealing intelligence information after a 6 month enquiry. Continuing and bad tempered deadlock over the miners dispute and more kidnapping, bombs and shootings in the Middle East. At last tired to bed after a very long and demanding week.
