Busy office day back after the holiday setting the office heating as the temperature drops and the family remain ill with me getting fed up of Diana’s four month sickness

Up early and, after a shower, to a breakfast of toast and fruit juice. Disappointment that Diana is even more ill and some frustration as I criticise her for making heavy weather of it all. Anyone else would also lose patience after four months of ‘incapacity.’ Off directly to the office and from 7 to 8am switching on and adjusting the building’s heating appliances and then formulating a policy for ensuring that the matter is attended to on subsequent occasions. A busy morning processing an enormous pile of mail and listing the priorities.

An afternoon in meetings with individual executives and monitoring the work of each. Relatively early home and pleased to see Diana up and about and the family improved. News today of Syria releasing a US Airman after Senator Jessie Jackson visited with an appeal. Also of the first two of the British Sextuplets home from hospital and the rest doing fine. The weather today turning colder with the overnight storms turning to snow and bad weather in the north. Tired to bed and hoping that I can actually get through some of workload in the morning and arrange some meetings later in the week.
